GIVE YOUR NEW AGENCY STAFF A HEAD START WITH THE EUROPEAN ADVERTISING CERTIFICATE
To ensure new agency staff have a thorough understanding of the advertising industry and its processes and that they stand out from the crowd, sign them up to take up the European Advertising Certificate, a new online qualification launching this week in Ireland and across Europe.
The European Advertising Certificate is aimed at IAPI member employees of all disciplines and from all types of agencies with up to three year’s industry experience. It provides individuals with a comprehensive overview of the brand communication process, in addition to complementing their day-to-day jobs.
Modules include: Advertising and Communication in Context; Understanding Clients’ Businesses; Client, Creative and Media Briefs; Creativity and Creative Development; Understanding Media Channels; and Implementing Creative Ideas. It comprises 20 hours of online learning, followed by a two-hour written examination.
“When you start out in a new field you learn everything in such a piecemeal way, and in advertising the account you’re on completely dictates your experience. The EACA European Advertising Certificate is a great opportunity to study the full picture from people who really know.”
Says Dominic Lyle, Director General, EACA.
Over the past year IAPI has worked alongside EACA, the IPA and 11 other European countries to develop the European Advertising Certificate a platform for consistent, recognised EU wide professional standard for young people adapted from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising’s Foundation Certificate. As part of the process the online learning has been tested by 118 agency staff across Europe pictured are the Irish testers; Sinead Dennis, Cawley Nea/TBWA, Laura McGovern, Young Euro RSCG, Mary McMahon, Irish International, Heather Martin, IAPI, Justin Ronan, Vizeum, Karen Barry, Leo Burnett and IAPI/EAC Project Manager Aisling Conlon, and IAPI CEO Sean McCrave.
